Barcelona Shuttle Booking Coordination
TL;DR
- Struggled with a clunky online booking forum for coordinating ~60 people’s shuttle transfers into Barcelona (BCN).
- Started saving pages as PDFs (Chrome plugin, headers/footers, 50% scale) since no direct contact was available.
- Pushed back on a London-based broker whose web form couldn’t handle multiple destinations, asking for direct communication instead.
- By afternoon, confirmed 2 of 5 shuttle routes (Giovanni Bus Travel), covering 43 people, with a plan for stragglers to catch a fallback bus.
- Noted the Colorado Creek Hotel drop-off requires a 7-8 minute walk from the bus stop.
Booking Frustrations
Booking things has been a rigmarole. The online forum is terrible, making it hard to ensure everything is correct, and there are a lot of merge requests in. I’d love to talk to someone directly, but I can’t, so I’m saving as much information as possible until I get a point of contact. I’m using the Chrome plugin to save pages as PDFs with headers/footers and 50% scale so they stay legible.
Broker Pushback
The airport taxi transfer company (a London-based broker) took the info I gave them and just plugged it into their own generic web form instead of working out the actual routing. The form can’t handle multiple destinations, so I’ve had to repeat information in special instructions. I replied to Agent 6728 explaining that I’m coordinating a complex shuttle service for about 60 people arriving on various flights into Barcelona (BCN), and asked if there’s a way to communicate more directly since the form is too limiting.
Progress by Afternoon
I’ve got two confirmed routes out of five with Giovanni Bus Travel - great communication, with a contact named Agent 7265. The Colorado Creek Hotel can’t be dropped off at directly, but it’s only a 7-8 minute walk, so I’ll let people know. That’s 43 people accommodated for now, and those arriving late will at least have a bus to fall back on or try to catch. Three more routes still to confirm.
