Closing the iLiv Project: A New Chapter Begins
TL;DR
- Wrapped up the iLiv project with a focus on smooth transition and bug fixes.
- Tackled microphone engagement issue on Android post-upgrade.
- Adjusted and repackaged applications due to font licensing changes.
- Prepared final app release for staging and testing before departure.
- Planned maintenance strategy and informal support for the iLiv team post-exit.
Today marks the end of my three-year journey with the iLiv project. Initially starting under Digital Introspection Incorporated, the project evolved into a distinct company responsible for the application I developed, which included the front end, back end, and an administration app.
As I transition to a new role at GitLab, I aim to leave the iLiv team well-prepared. My agenda included wrapping up bug fixes, such as a persistent microphone engagement issue on Android after app upgrades, and managing a font change due to prohibitive licensing costs. I also ensured a smooth transition by documenting processes like AWS log access for the product owner and setting up follow-up meetings.
With all components repackaged, I deployed the app backend and administration application updates on AWS, readying them for staging. The forthcoming week involves rigorous testing by the iLiv team to ensure zero bugs, aiming for a seamless final release.
Though I officially part ways, I’m committed to informal advisory support, avoiding abrupt severance to preserve the strong relationship built over the project’s duration.
Now, onto the microphone library challenge—here we go!
